Tamra is a native of El Paso, Texas now residing in New York City. She grew up eating tamales and dreaming of being an Olympic Volleyball player. Nowadays, she spends her time acting, singing, writing, producing and, well, eating Tamales.

Years ago, she found herself between performing gigs for the first time. She didn’t like not being able to create and she especially didn’t like feeling that her ability to create lay in the hands of the industry so she started producing as a means by which to make work for herself. It has since developed into a (high-level) hobby and a means by which to make work for others. To date, she has produced 11 off-off-broadway shows in addition to countless readings, concerts, cabarets and themed events. In 2016, she joined forces with Kelsey Claire and Douglas Johnson to form Shiyr Productions. Most recently, she made her first foray into the world of producing for the big screen with her web series Chronicles of a Bleep Year Old Woman. The pilot is doing well on the film festival circuit with 14 selections, several awards and counting.

On stage is still where Tamra feels most at home. Rehearsal rooms, too. Tamra’s been seen on stages international as both musician and actor and has been reviewed by a bunch of people … blah, blah, blah. Most importantly, she lives for storytelling. Collaboration. Magical connections with audiences. She believes the arts is one of the most powerful tools we have as humans for healing, inspiring, challenging.
