(AND LOVER OF QUIRKY THINGS)

"ESPECIALLY FINE AMONG THE SINGERS WAS TAMRA PASELK."

New York Times: Reimagining a Magical Pastoral Tale in an Urban Forest.

A native of El Paso, Texas now residing in New York City, Tamra grew up eating tamales and dreaming of being an Olympic Volleyball player. In an unlikely turn of events, she became an opera singer instead :) Now Tamra multi-hyphenates (the verb) as actor, writer and producer. While multi-hyphenating does require most of her time, Tamra still finds time to dance like no one’s watching (because no one is) alone in her apartment and to eat tamales.

Tamra believes that art is one of the most powerful tools we have in this world. Two people who will argue until they’re hoarse at dinner, will sit next to each other in a theatre and share tears. And so … she’s still here, telling stories. Because there are some things doctors can’t heal. But art can.

And while she loves being “emo” as much as the next actor, she is particularly drawn to comedy. We need the tears and the yelling, yadayada, but gosh, with the world being so heavy can’t we all agree it’s the laugh that sometimes gets us through the day. And when it comes to difficult topics, take the funny way in.

In life, she is most proud of her roles as Aunt Tammi to 5 nieces and 4 nephews, Sister to Stephanie, Josh and Brady and Friend to many.
